Amanda qualified with a foundation degree from the University of Essex.
She holds individual membership of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and works to their ethical framework. Alongside this Amanda is registered on the national register for Psychotherapists accredited by the Department of Health.
From working as a counsellor in the community with ‘Surestart’ Amanda joined the NHS and worked on the Perinatal Emotional Wellbeing service in Essex. She gained several years’ experience counselling clients from many different backgrounds and cultures.
Amanda's theoretical approach is person centred whereby she trusts the client as the expert with the capacity to self-direct within the session. Her role is to give the right conditions to enable the client to explore and discover answers to issues in a non-directive way.

BRIEF THERAPY, LONGER TERM PSYCHOTHERAPY, GESTALT, TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS PHENOMENOLOGICAL & EXISTENTIAL.
